The Scary Ticket Power of TVXQ Junsu & Yunho

Stars debuting for a stage (T/N: in term of drama/musical stage) performance is currently receiving many attention. However the hot issue is not only the challenge those stars face for drama and musical stage itself, but also the huge ticket power of these stars to invite audiences to the theatre that has been recognized ever since.

TVXQ members U-Know Yunho and Xiah Junsu, for instance, have showed off an outstanding ticket power and gave proof of the popularity of themselves.

In December last year, Xiah Junsu took part in his first musical ‘Mozart’. At the 3rd round ‘Mozart’ ticket sales, all 4 stages consisting 12,000 seats where Junsu starring in were all sold out in only 3 hours. Meanwhile during the first and second ticket sales, fans flocked the reservation site that caused the site’s server to crash.

Xiah Junsu’s popularity seems to be repeated by U-Know Yunho. It’s still two months ahead before U-Know Yunho makes his appearance in musical ‘Goong’ on September 8th to 19th. However on last July 9th all tickets were already sold out in 2 minutes.

Moreover, fans who couldn’t get the tickets from Japan, China, Taiwan, and other Asia countries keep sending inquiries to the musical production company. ‘Goong’ production company thanked U-Know Yunho for the popularity of the musical stage and currently in process of discussion to add even more stages for him to perform.

Let’s Watch and Wait for Tohoshinki

Tohoshinki has indefinitely suspended their activities according to their contract problems with their Korean management company. I went to the Japanese debut event of one of the members’ brothers, Juno, who is a twin brother of Junsu.

In the event, Junsu, who is one of the person concerned, also performed on stage. He sang Whitney Houston’s “Greatest Love of All” in an unconstrained lovely voice. It has really been a while since Junsu sang in front of the Japanese fans. It was very impressive that he gave his word of honor “Again….I will make these times…so please wait a while.”

Hearing Junsu’s vocal this day, I again strongly thought that they want to stand on stage and sing their best, as a professional singer.

The current situation is that the problem is evolved in a hopeless mess, and that they could not do what they really want to do. There are arguments for and against the new unit together with Jaejoong and Yoochun. But I personally think that this project would be the best shape in the current situation, considering fully of their wishes. The fans also should want to meet their vigorous activities, so please try to understand them. I know that it is really difficult, but they themselves will surely measure up to the fans’ expectations.

I strongly felt the difference of the system of the Korean and Japanese entertainment companies with this problem. There are many things which we Japanese cannot understand. The 13 years’ exclusivity contract, low income distribution, and such, are beyond the Japanese common knowledge. But in Korea, it could happen.

This is just my personal view, but all the fans should take a step backward, and watch and wait for them in a long term. Of course there are roads that we should directly see in order to go through. But I feel so sorry for them, that many small incidents disturb them, and that they could not concentrate on what they really want to do. I think that it is necessary for the fans to think what would be best under the current situations. They themselves would be sad if we say unrealistic thoughts, in the days, when everything is a mixture and a mess.

I believe there is a possibility of the 5 to be active together in the future. So, I would like to be positive, believing and supporting them forever. (Etsuko Noumura)

Junsu’s New Song “Kanashimino Yukue”

“Kanashimino Yukue” of XIAH junsu will be the theme song!

The theme song, which will add grace to the love story, will be Junsu’s (from Tohoshinki, which activities are now suspended) solo ballad song, “Kanashimino Yukue”!

The soft vocal (we attend to the song before we know) and the lyrics which were written especially for this drama, will enliven the mood of the drama, blending in harmony together with the warm and single-hearted love, which is described in the drama.

“Kanashimino Yukue” is scheduled to be in XIAH junsu’s new single, to be released on May 26.

Harper BAZAAR Blog – Xiah Junsu’s Ideal Girl

The blog has been updated with contents pertaining to Tohoshinki’s Junsu
I’ve received a lot of mail from people, and although I can’t reply to every single one of them, I’m still very grateful
Thank you everyone for your warm, encouraging words
So, to repay everyone, I’ve asked for details from the reporter that interviewed Junsu

On the day of the interview, Junsu was very casual– with jeans, a t-shirt, and a jacket
He is a very polite young man
When asked about his ideal type of girl, he replied:
“I like it when they pick up something and have the decency to cover up the area of their chests;
when they give people things with both their hands;
and girls who notice the smallest of details.”

The shoot’s theme was based on water
During the shoot, he had a lot of passion and had great chemistry with Miyuki Matsuda, the photographer
After the shoot, his staff gave me an album, and on it wrote “thank you” in Japanese and Junsu’s signature

He really is amazing
I really want to appreciate his music the best that I can
Junsu has the passionate support of many fans
And I also suddenly developed a great interest to him…

This seasons drama I’m watching while I’m in the car is
Ueto Aya-san’s “Zettai Reido” and
Jaejoong, Ueno Juri-san, and Eita-san’s “Sunao Ni Narenakute”
Out of all the broadcast these 2.
Since Monday at 9pm drama hasn’t started yet.
Jaejoong is pure and naive and glad that he is doing well
We’ll be waiting for Junsu coming solo on “Music Fair”!

Since I posted an article concerning Junsu-san of Tohoshinki,
there were many access and comments from the fans.
I cannot reply to each of them, so I want to express my gratitude here.
Everyone, thank you very much for your kind comments.

In exchange, I have heard the backstage stories of the photo session from the person in charge, who was the actual reporter that day.

Junsu-san appeared that date in simple style; jeans, T shirt, and jacket.
He seems to be a very courteous person.
When he was asked about the type of girl he prefers, he answered,
“For an example, when a girl drops something and picks it up, she takes care not to show her front, or, when she hands something to another person, she also gives out her other hand. I like girls with those thoughtfulness.”

What was his drink during the photo session? It was water.
The photographer was Miyuki Matsuda (she was the wife of the late actor Yusaku Matsuda, and the mother of the actor brothers Ryuhei & Shota Matsuda.)
The went along smoothly with each other.
The photo session was full of excitement.

After the photo session, the staffs were given out the album. (T/N: she does not state the name of the album)
There was a handwritten “Thank you” message in Japanese, and there was his signature, too.
Wonderful.
I am going to hear his vocals, too.

Junsu-san is supported by all the passionate fans’ feelings.
For me, the interest for him has increased deeply.

Junsu at Junho’s Showcase, From a Japanese Blog

Junho’s Showcase♪

Hello~
I went to Junho’s showcase~~~~~~~
I know everyone is anxious about our Junsu.
I will make a brief report, so all of you can replenish yourselves with the current Junsu…

Junho’s showcase was for full two hours.
The JCB Hall was full with purple lam penlights, up to the 3rd floor.
This time, there were no red penlights.
I think the program was similar to that of Beijing’s.

One hour passed before Junsu appeared on stage…
During the time, Junho performed his Chinese debut dance song, showcased the PV, and the preparation images before Junho’s debut was shown….
Junho was doing his best learning the Chinese pronunciation, dance, and vocalization.
There were family gathering images of dinner, karaoke, and drinking sessions, to support Junho during his preparation days~

At that image, Junsu was making advices as a senior.
After that, in Karaoke, their friend Yongpil joined them and boosted the mood.
Junsu, though sitting, sung the MIROTIC♪
Afterwards, during the drinking session with friends, Junsu’s English was introduced…

Junsu seemed as though he was drinking beer~ his face was a little bit red~ he seemed to be enjoying himself with his friends. Junsu in the image was very cute.
Even though it was just a video, my heart ached~~~

Junho went backstage to change his clothes, there were screen images, and then…

Junsu appeared on stage~~
The song was “Greatest Love of All” ♪
Junsu appeared from the center of the stage, wearing a black tight suit.

JUNSU~~~~TTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
At “Mozart”, he had so much makeup, so it has been a long time since I was able to see his natural face…
I heard a rumor that he was going to a tanning salon, and his face was not so white~~~
He looked a little bit tired, and I heard that Junho had caught a cold, so maybe both the brothers had them..(a little bit worried)

But, his song was..
Maybe it was because he started to perform in musicals~~
I cannot put into correct words, but previously, Junsu started to sing songs in a thin voice, but this time, his voice was deep and heavy from the beginning!
I thought~ oh~ this should be a technique he achieved through the musicals…
Junsu always performs in a perfect style, but he always goes further and devotes himself more and more, as though there is no limitTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

His appearance from the center of the stage, holding a microphone, was true stateliness.
His expressions during both the quiet and the heartily parts were really matured…
As with the Mozart performance, when Junsu bend down and walked fast on stage to go to all sides,
I was full of tearsTTTTTTTT

Until now, though Junsu have performed on many stages, he sometimes seemed to be nervous and bashful when performing alone… but this time, he was in state.
The size of the hall was rather small and the distance between the audience and Junsu was very near, but Junsu himself was catching the eyes of the audience one by one during singing the song. I thought that I was able to see a true matured artist.
Junsu arranged the last part of the song long and stable, and it really got into my heart.
As always, Junsu’s vocal is lovely~ why should his song get so much into my heart..TTTTT

Junsu sang only one song, but there were the “Twins’ talk” for about 15 minutes♪

First of all, Junsu alone was exchanging simple greetings with the host.
“Today I came to support and cheer my brother Junho. I am more nervous than my brother…
My brother was performing better than I expected, I thought his doing his best is lovely.”

After thinking a little, Junsu answered to the question, “How did Junho change during his debut period?” as, “He changed in many ways.. and he is now very manly~ oh, of course he wasn’t a girl (lol). He seems to be flamboyant.. The charismatic image ? (Lol) that I aimed, he is far better than me. I thought this is a must-win game.”

Oh Junsu~~ your talks are always funny~~ the hall was full of laughter.
Then, it was time for Junsu to call his brother Junho, who was waiting at the wing. He said “How should I call him? Umm.. Juno~♪”

Junho was smiling as he appeared on stage, and the two embraced each other. Junsu was smiling a shy smile. Little Junsu completely fit into Junho (Lol) Junsu, who is slightly smaller than Junho, looked very cute, and my heart missed a beat again. (Junsu is not short, but Junho is the one who’s tall…)

Afterwards, the two sat together in the center of the stage, and the talk time together with the host and the interpreter started.

Junho and Junsu looked at each other, and Junsu said
“We are twins~~ maybe you cannot believe us, but we are biovular twins!”

To the question from the host to Junsu, “What kind of brother was Junho to you?”,
Junsu answered, “My brother was like an elder brother from our chilidhood days, he was always considerate, always kind to me, and we were able to get well together. He is really my elder brother, I tend to forget that he is my twin brother, I am so thankful.”

There, Junho asked “Do you love me?” (Lol)
Junsu “Yes, I love you (Lol)”
Junho “Arigato Gojaimasu” (T/N: thank you. The true word is “Arigato Gozaimasu”.)
Junsu “I am so thankful!” (Lol)

Junsu, the word “considerate” came out so smoothly… oh, his Japanese is OK~

From Junho, “My brother is really like a younger brother.. Though we are in the same position, twins, he always called me the elder brother. He should have had complicated feelings since we are twins.. I thank him for always respecting me as an elder brother. As a singer, he is a great senior, and thanks to him, I am able to stand on today’s stage.”
Junho said all this in Korean. Afterwards, he requested to Junsu “Please translate (T/N: to Japanese)”, but Junsu seemed to be embarrassed, so at the last, the interpreter translated his words.

Junsu “Give it your all!” (Lol)
Junho “Arigato Gojaimasu”

The host requested that the brothers disclose an episode especially here, and Junsu said,
“We got up to mischief.. too far…a lady…a friend (a girl), we picked on her, and we made her burst into tears….
Oh, it was back in our childhood days~ we liked her, so we picked on her a little~”

Host “That girl is so lucky, to have been made into tears by you two~ (Lol).” Junsu burst into laughing.
“So, you are now an adult, so you won’t make ladies cry like that?” (Oh~ thank you host for asking the question.)
Junsu “No, no, I won’t do that kind of things~ (smiling bashfully)~ I will …really.. love her.”

The audience was full of kya~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Host “Which is stronger? When you have a fight, which side wins…..?”
Junsu “Maybe you won’t believe us, but we have never quarreled~”
Junho “Yes, its true” (T/N: in Japanese)
Junsu “We always worked together.. for instance, we beat a junior high school student when we were in elementary school by fighting together~ (Lol)”

(The two are really loving brothers.)

There was a message and advice from Junsu to Junho.
Junsu “When you stand on stage, I want you to think that you are the best in the world….the audience will know.. it is really important as an artist, I think.”

(applause from the audience~~)

Host “Send a yell to your brother.”
Junsu “I think that… you will do your best as you have done until this date~
Really… umm (asking the interpreter for the Japanese word, lol) Oh, genuine. He is a genuine person~
Really…I don’t have anything to say about this point…I believe in him.
He is truly doing his best… (smiling bashfully)”

(Junho was laughing out loud).

In the very last, we were able to hear Junsu’s messages to the fans.

It has been really quite a while since I met face to face with all of you….
Soon….the time that we can meet will…
I think that there will be many chances….everyone….please, a little bit….

Junsu’s First Words After Hiatus – “We’ll Meet Again”

On the 18th, Tohoshinki’s Junsu (23) appeared as a guest at his twin brother Zuno’s showcase live at the Tokyo JCB Hall. In his first public stage since the NHK Kouhaku Uta Gassen at the end of last year, he sent a message to the fans, “The time has come for us to meet soon, so please wait a little longer.” As the suspension of their activities was announced on the 3rd, this is the first time information about their activities was mentioned by any of the members.

On the 14th, Junsu formed a new unit with Jejung and Yoochun. In June, they will hold Lives at Kyocera Dome, Osaka, and at the Tokyo Dome.

His brother Zuno have begun activities as a singer in China and more recently in Japan. In a press conference that he attended alone before his concert, Zuno cheered his brother on, “I’m not worried. I want to give him my support and I think he will be successful.”

Junsu also gave his brother advise, “When you’re standing on the stage, think of yourself as the best. That’s important for an artist.”

TVXQ 3 Members Unit, “They’re more like victims… There is no legal issue.”

TVXQ members who are in dispute with SM Entertainment regarding exclusive contract issue; Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun are forming a three members unit in Japan.

According to the news aired by KBS 2TV ‘Entertainment Tonight’ on the 17th, Jaejoong, Junsu, and Yoochun are forming three members unit to explore new activities.

Official from TVXQ Japan agency, AVEX said, “The three members Junsu, Jaejoong, and Yoochun are already decided to form a new unit. The three will be active by continuing with new exclusive contract from AVEX.”

Regarding this, TVXQ agency SM Entertainment which had been appealed by the three TVXQ members related to exclusive contract provisional injunction, promptly filed a lawsuit in claiming for damages worth 2.2 billion won as expression of their strong regret.

However, AVEX official through conversation with ‘Entertainment Tonight’ retorted, “I think the 3 members are more like the victims here. Anyway, we’re done preparing for the compensation of damages. We did this (the Japan contract) because the situation allows us to make a contract. We see no legal problem at all.”

Elle Japan June issue’s (April 28th released) Xiah Junsu photoshoot went in much nervous, surprises, and laughters, it was a really valuable experience.

Through a full day of photoshoot and interview, the relaxed and honest expressions which are rarely seen were captured.

At every single question, he answered naturally in polite manner and was also carefully speaking, made everyone who attended the shooting completely became his fans.

(※in the midst of writing this script, TVXQ activities had just been decided to suspend…. I really regret this, Elle will continue to support the activities of each member in the future!)

As for the off-shot that is filled with secret episode will be published on April 27th (Tue) UP on Elle Online Celebrity Channel. A full “interview” will be introduced, so please look forward to it!

Message from JunSu to Singapore Fans

NEWS DIRECT FROM SEOUL:

We just received an emotional message from Junsu. This is what he said to Zuno’s manager – “I am very worried when I come to Singapore for my brother’s showcase. It is my first time to the country and with so many legal issues going on I had no choice but to pull out from the fans meet in Singapore. I am afraid that my fans will hate me because of this and in turn they won’t support Zuno.”

We have assured Junsu that his fear is unfounded and have told him not to worry so much because his fans still love and support him and Zuno no matter what happens. Hwaiting!

PS: DON’T WORRY FANS, JUNSU IS STILL COMING TO SINGAPORE TO SUPPORT ZUNO. When he said that he had no choice but to pull out from the fans meet in Singapore, he was referring to the autograph and photo-taking session originally planned for those who had bought the membership package A. He will be performing one song and an interview during the showcase on 1 May. Catch him there!
